Bladewell vs Blade UI Kit

Blade UI Kit was a set of renderless Blade components, with date pickers and editors built on third-party libraries. Bladewell is also plain Blade with no Livewire needed, styled with Tailwind CSS, and copies its components into your app.

Blade UI Kit is no longer maintained. Its maintainer has ended the project, and Packagist marks the package abandoned.

Which to pick

Blade UI Kit, if

  • You need a Markdown or rich text editor, or a map, built in: Bladewell has none of these, though its guide adds a rich text editor with Tiptap.
  • You want unstyled components for a CSS framework other than Tailwind.

Bladewell, if

  • You're moving to Laravel 13, or want a library that's still maintained.
  • You need a modal, a data table, a select or a file upload, which Blade UI Kit never had.
  • You want components that are already styled and accessible, with nothing loaded from a CDN.
